Well the North Peace Fall Fair has once again come and gone.  Thank you to all of our members and volunteers who donated pies, their time, or both over this past weekend.

This fundraiser marked our 3rd annual Fall Fair Pie Fundraiser and each year has been more successful than the next. With over 70 of the "World's Best Pie"(s) sold and countless pots of the "Best Coffee Ever" we can proudly attest that our volunteers are the best and we couldn't do it with out them!

Proceeds from the Fall Fair Pie Fundraiser support the ArtsPost facility, home of the Fort St. John Community Arts Council, the North Peace Spinners' & Weavers' Guild and the North Peace Potters' Guild.

The persons applying for these positions must enjoy meeting and interacting with the public, have an active interest in local and regional history and strong willingness to learn. Candidates must be team players, patient, flexible, able to take direction and ask questions, be honest and work compatibly with Museum staff and volunteers. Applicants must be very detail and task oriented, have good organizational and problem solving skills and must be able to work well without constant direct supervision. Initiative, curiosity and creativity are assets. Mature persons are recommended due to the nature of some of the duties.

Please submit resumes to the Fort St. John North Peace Museum. For more information please contact Daria at the Museum at (250) 787-0430 or fsjnpmuseum @fsjmail.com.

Join the Potters' Guild for its first summer sale, Wednesday 14th July from 4-9 pm at the studio, 10320 94th Avenue, (side door of the Artspost).

Three years into the studio operation newer potters, after lots of practice. are beginning to look for a market for their work. More experienced potters will also have work for sale.  Regardless this is your opportunity to purchase local art/craft work for yourself or for gifts. Work is reasonably priced and shows a variety of techniques. Some of the work is that made for demonstration purposes in class so if you are interested in taking a class this would be a good opportunity to see what is in store for you.

The sale supports the growth of the local potters and ceramic artists and assists the guild in maintaining the studio for classes and for community member use.

A new champion! The North Peace Potters' Guild announces the winner of the 2010 Chili Bowl Bash chili competition. The winning recipe was submitted by Team Jessica Harrison. Jessica (right) was acccompanied in kitchen by Valerie Martin (pictured left). The winning recipe was turkey based and contains lots of fresh roasted vegetables.

Thank you to all our wonderful participating chefs. Tim n Tyc's also generously lent the Potters Guild use of their kitchen for the event. Some of the wonderful chilis, if not the winning recipe this time, were entries from Lori Ackerman (with Lisa Wildman), Melanie Chapple, Dillon Lazaroff and the defending champions from the 101.5, the Bear, (Christina and her team, including a new baby).
