Who would have guessed, when we dreamed up this fund raising idea, that we would be talking about a 5th anniversary of a very popular event?

The event held every year near the longest day, allows people who love to own and use hand made pottery, and who love to eat chili, to do both in one evening.

A $30.00 ticket buys you chili dinner, accompanied by dessert and non alcoholic beverages, served in a bowl hand made by a member of the Guild,  You get to take home your choice of bowl. This being a majorfundraiser there are extras as course. There is a silent auction, a 50/50draw, and a pinata bash at the end of the evening. The door prize is a session of classes at the Guild. (for September or January).

The Chili is an event in itself. Six local "chili chefs" cook their recipe at the designated kitchen during the afternoon. They remain to serve their recipe in the evening, all the while marketing their chili and vie for votes, enough to win their name on the covetted chili trophy.

Only 100 tickets are sold. They are available at the Artpost office on weekday mornings (10320 94th Avenue), the Guild studio (same place,side door) on Saturdays from 10.00 - 1.00pm and from the Hair Bin during business hours.(Thank you Marnie and Lorraine). Unfortunately we are unable to hold tickets without payment.

Children are of course welcome but the Guild regrets that special pricing is not available.

The pinata at the end of the evening is a favourite with the younger set.

Last year the event helped to pay for the installation of a kiln. Funds go towards new equipment and to the operation of the studio for the community.  It is an expensive endeavour. Your support is much appreciated.
