Have you seen the Art on our buses?
Art on a busIn its fourth year, the Art That Moves You program is one of the most rewarding programs we have started because the project focuses on public art and increasing the accessibility of art for the residents of Fort St. John.

The program places original paintings by local artists on the sides of city transit buses, where advertising panels usually are located. The Art That Moves You panels will circulate on city buses from May through September. This year’s theme is 'Branching Out', celebrating Fort St. John as the recipient of the 2009 Forest Capital of BC award.

Each year we produce bookmarks from the previous year’s panel images and distribute them during Arts and Culture Week in April. The bookmarks are free to the public and are available at the Fort St. John Public Library. Collect all 8 while supplies last!

It's Flower Pot Time!

The Flower Pot Project is a Communities In Bloom initiative
shared by the City of Fort St. John and the Fort St. John
Community Arts Council. Communities In Bloom is an
international program that recognizes city beautification efforts.

Each year these flower pots provide colour and beauty to 100th
Street and at the regional airport in Fort St. John. The flower
pots are painted by local artists, and the City places the planters
in the downtown core. After two years of decorating the streets, a
flower pot is auctioned off to the community raising funds for
the Arts Council.

This year two of our member groups have helped deliver this event. The North Peace Potters' Guild has looked after the painting of the new pots while Northern Dance Theatre Society is organizing the annual Flower Pot Auction.

For information on sponsoring a flower pot, please contact us at the ArtsPost.

Join us for our annual Flower Pot Auction on June 7th, Centennial Park. Entertainment, refreshments, and snacks 12-4pm. Auction begins at 1pm.
